CONTACT IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP
In this workshop, we will explore the relationships, dynamics, and possibilities that emerge through physical contact in improvisation. We will focus on specific technical aspects, such as the dynamic interplay between weight and the forces of movement, as well as the management of energy in pulling, pushing, and repelling actions. We will work with physical laws and kinetic quantities—such as force, momentum, and balance—and observe how these forces influence our movement. Within this analysis, particular emphasis will be placed on the sense of touch, with the aim of investigating cohesion and kinaesthetic awareness.
At the same time, we will explore the unique nature of improvisation, in which the performer is called upon to simultaneously generate material, make immediate stage decisions, interpret, express, address, expose themselves, interact with the audience, and perceive the ever-changing context within which they are dancing.
In this workshop, improvisation will be approached not only as a technical tool for generating movement material but also as an artistic modus operandi.
