Kalamata Dance Megaron / Alternative Stage
SANIA STRIMPAKOU
WORKSHOP FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN AND TEENS (AGES 7-14)
Through kinetic instructions and focusing on the body as a whole, as well as its individual parts, we will discover different qualities of movement, enriching our expressive palette with new dynamics, forms, and possibilities of transformation. We will literally “illuminate” the moving body, playing with reflections, shadows, and the traces left by movement in space. The movement conditions in a staged setting, the fronts, directions, as well as the different perspectives of the viewer, dancer, and choreographer/lighting designer, will help the children gain a holistic understanding of movement within the context of a dance performance.
(Duration: Three days, 2 hours per day)
