The Kalamata International Dance Centre announces its first artists in residency programme, Inside Time, with the aim of researching and creating new artistic work in dialogue and direct engagement with the local community (community work). From 5 to 11 July, artists from Greece and Germany will be hosted in Kalamata, dedicating time to the creation of a new contemporary dance performance for children aged 3–6, entitled Small Worlds.

This initiative forms part of the year-round activation of the Kalamata International Dance Centre and is part of a broader curatorial direction that seeks to strengthen the relationship between artistic creation and the social space in which it unfolds.

Because dance is an ancient and vital means of expression for everyone.

Kalamata Dance Megaron – Alternative Stage

Description

You are warmly invited to an open rehearsal of Small Worlds, a new contemporary dance performance for children aged 3–6. Created especially for kindergarten and early childhood spaces, the work transforms familiar rooms into imaginative landscapes through movement, simple materials, and games of discovery.

During this open rehearsal, children (aged 3-6) and adults will have the opportunity to experience the creative process, encounter the performers, and discover how an ordinary floor can become a path, a bridge, a mountain, or a shared place of adventure. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
