DIMITRA MERTZANI

MOVEMENT WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS 40+

About the workshop

In the 40+ workshop, we invite individuals over the age of 40 into the world of movement, regardless of prior experience with movement or dance.

Throughout the workshop, we will awaken our bodies and senses through exercises, games of concentration and other creative ideas. We will explore movement and dance with the aim of joy, free expression, creativity and imagination. Through movement, we will get to know our bodies a little better and explore ourselves as members of a group that communicate, interact and collaborate.

We will also draw inspiration from other art forms such as music, theatre and literature. Over the course of three days, we will get to know each other, experiment, move, dance, and create together.

The structure of the workshop includes introductory games, preparation of our body and focus, various exercises to activate the body and sharpen the senses, communication exercises in pairs and larger groups, exercises that allow more space for creative expression and dance release and finally a discussion-sharing session based on the observations and thoughts that emerged.
