KALAMATA MUNICIPAL RAILWAY PARK
The leading improvisation teacher, dancer, and choreographer David Zambrano presents Mariposa, a solo performance rooted in spontaneous composition, based on the method and practices he has developed and teaches internationally. In this work, stage presence meets real-time movement research, as he composes live on stage, transforming instant creation into living choreography and creating a dynamic and unpredictable dance landscape.
His practice is deeply connected to art as a field of cultural exchange, where different experiences, influences, and bodies coexist and interact. Through this approach, he develops a creative process that goes beyond fixed forms, emphasizing an immediate connection with space, time, and the audience.
For Zambrano, this mode of creation is not merely a tool, but an autonomous art form with its own structure and expressive power. Choreography functions as a vehicle that continuously fuels and evolves this process, opening up new possibilities for composition, presence, and communication on stage.
