Ballet Seminar for kids and teenagers
In the workshop we will try to decode ballet. Through the exercises and the structure of the course, we will approach the mechanics of the body from another perspective. Keeping a distance from the strict search for the exact result, we will focus on the way of studying and the benefits that ballet offers to dance students, of any kind. We will analyze the form and what this classical, absolute technique offers to the modern world.

Emilia Korfia was born in Athens where she started dancing at the State School of Dance. She continued her studies at the State Hungarian Ballet Academy, where she graduated with Zsuzsa Kun and immediately after that she danced with the Ballet of the National Theater of Hungary in Pecs under the director and the choreographer Istvan Herczog. Soon she became principal dancer. As a dancer of the National Ballet she danced a series of classical and neoclassical roles such as Swanilda in Coppelia, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Judith in Bluebeard’s Castle (world ballet premier) etc. After her return to Greece she danced for the National Theater of Greece, the National Opera of Greece, the Nafsika Dance Theater, the Aenaon Dance Theater among many others. In 1996 she started giving ballet and repertory classes at the Professional Department of the Isadora Duncan Dance Center in Athens. In 2000, she established the Contemporary Dance Company X-ART. Since 2003 he has been teaching Ballet for Professionals, Barre a terre at DANCCE and Ballet at the Higher Dance School of Niki Kontaxaki until 2020, Greek National School of Dance and AKTINA Higher School of Dance. She teaches seminars in Greece and abroad, such as the Wales Dance Theater, DV8 Physical Theater Company, the Dance Center of the Limassol Municipality of Cyprus, the Danish Dance Theater, Greek National Opera School and others. She is still dancing in contemporary projects in Greece and abroad.
