<\/span>Dance Moves \/ Let&apos;s get the party started<\/span><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomIn” css=””]The Dancing on Screen<\/strong><\/em> section, launched last year to great success, is dedicated to the relationship between dance and the moving image, particularly film, addressing both familiar audiences and viewers experiencing contemporary dance for the first time. It is implemented in collaboration with Filmhouse \/ the New Cinema Club of Kalamata<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This year, throughout the Festival\u2019s duration, the video work All She Likes is Popping Bubble Wrap<\/strong><\/em> by choreographer Ioanna Paraskevopoulou<\/strong> will be screened at the Kalamata Dance Megaron. The selection of this work was made within the framework of the collaboration with Miden Video Art<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1779304247178{margin-top: 60px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column]

<\/span>Dance Moves \/ Let&apos;s get the party started<\/span><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomIn” css=””]On Friday, 24 July, the Kalamata Dance Megaron becomes the unlikely venue for a themed party curated by Vassilis Papaefstathiou. A carefully selected programme of music videos with a strong kinetic language \u2014 from Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers to OK Go and Newcleus \u2014 transforms Megaron into a living, pulsating universe of image and sound and ignites a fabulous party.<\/p>\n

The selected videos are not merely musical projections; they are small manifestos of movement. In these works, dance does not decorate the music \u2014 it arranges it, negotiates with it, reverses it. The audience is invited to watch, to be inspired, to imitate the movement on screen, or simply to let themselves be carried away by the music and dance. There is no stage and no audience; only a shared party space.<\/p>\n

The evening is part of the Dancing with the Community section<\/strong><\/em> \u2014 another open invitation from the Festival to all those who wish to experience dance as something communal, accessible, and liberating.<\/p>\n
