ART WORKSHOP IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MUSEUM OF CYCLADIC ART
KALLOS: For me this is Beauty
On July 18, a visual art workshop for children and teenagers (4-15 years old) will be held at the Kalamata Dance Megaron in collaboration with the Museum of Cycladic Art, entitled KALLOS: For me this is Beauty. The workshop will take place on the occasion of the Digital Exhibition of Children’s Art of the same name, featuring works by children from the prefecture of Messinia. The workshop will take place from 18:00 to 21:00 in a continuous flow, so children can come at any time they wish within this three-hour period.
Along with their parents and friends, the young participants will use their works to compose a large puzzle on the walls of the Kalamata Dance Megaron, creating a large piece of installation art.
More specifically, a workshop featuring painting materials, collage materials, cardboard and jigsaw puzzles will be set up at the Foyer of the Kalamata Dance Megaron. These will serve as the “canvas” on which the children will create their works. After completing their painting, each child will paste it on the wall, connecting this piece to the other pieces of the puzzle that are already there, and gradually composing a bigger picture.
The workshop was designed and is presented by Daphne Kouri, from the Educational Department of the Museum of Cycladic Art.
