Kids’ Art Contest at the Museum of Cycladic Art

“Everyday Heroes”

8th Kids’ Art Contest at the Museum of Cycladic Art

For the second year in a row, the Kalamata International Dance Festival is joining forces with the Museum of Cycladic Art, in the context of the 8th Kid’s Art Contest entitled “Everyday Heroes”, which will be taking place online, on the new digital platform https://kidscontest.cycladic.gr/.

The contest is geared towards children between the ages of 4 and 15 and will last until March 25, 2021.

Students from the wider area of Kalamata who will participate in the competition, will see their artworks presented in July at a digital exhibition that will take place at the Kalamata Dance Megaron, within the framework the 27th Kalamata International Dance Festival!

On the occasion of the exhibition “Archaeology and Philhellenism. The Thanassis and Marina Martinos Collection” the Museum invites students to bring their own “Everyday Heroes” to life!

Through paintings, sculptures and other works of art, we research and learn about Heroes of the past, connecting them to the Heroes of today. Who are your Everyday Heroes, and what makes them stand out? A firefighter? A doctor? A child who takes care of stray animals and the environment? Your mother or father? We see them around us, we imagine them and bring them to life on paper, making them even more unique!
